A
beautiful Jaguar from the pre-CBS era, in a nice and rare custom color,
in more than excellent conditions. An even rarer find is the
association of this custom color with a non-matching headstock
and a tortoise plastic pickguard.
Neck date: NOVEMBER 1963. Pots date: 36th week of 1963. All
original guitar. Finish is in excellent shape, unfaded, with quite
a lot of checking both on top and back of the body. No belt-buckle
wear, only traces of normal playing wear, and along the edge of the
body the white undercoat can be seen under the red.
Intact Fender logo, beautiful brazilian rosewood fretboard with clay
dots, original frets and nut. Kluson Deluxe single-line original
tuners, a little rusty but fully functional. Original pickups and
electronics. The plastic parts are in good shape, except for a few
cracks in the tortoise guard next to the switch plate. All the
hardware is original, including bridge with its bridge cover, the
string mute (rubber is damaged), the vibrato tailpiece with its
original trem-arm.
Wonderful neck shape, and it's no wonder that '63 is considered as one
of the all-time best Fender years for neck profile.
The
guitar comes with its rare original white
tolex hardshell case in in excellent conditions, except for a
broken latch. Many pictures below, please open them one at a time.
