GIBSON LES PAUL 30th ANNIVERSARY, 1982-83

Gold Top. Real Vintage is proud to offer another example of this rare limited edition, issued by Gibson in 1982 and 1983 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Les Paul model. In the past years we have had another one (see here) and we were astonished by its sound and feel. Conceived as a reissue of the '57 version (gold top with stop-bar, tune-o-matic and two humbuckers), the 30th Anniversary is a rare and sought-after guitar, not only for its collectible status but most of all for 'musical' reasons. Built with care, as we can see from the nickel hardware (instead of chrome), the tune-o-matic ABR-1 style bridge with retaining wire, the gorgeous gold finish, this model is regarded as the best Anniversary model mostly for its great pickups - the so-called Tim Shaw PAFs. These humbuckers were conceived and developed between late '70s and early '80s for the Heritage 80 Les Paul models, the early 'Burst's celebrative reissues. Today the PAF reissues built by Tim Shaw are considered among the best  pickups ever produced by Gibson. In addition to the impressed patent number, they have a special ink-stamped code number starting with 137 (neck) and 138 (bridge) followed by the date, in this case december 1982 and january 1983. Even the guitar's serial number doesn't follow the regular Gibson rule and starts with A, B, or C.
One piece mahogany body, three-piece mahogany neck, maple top, rosewood fretboard with commemorative inlay at the 19th fret.
Flawless and all-original condition, perfect playability and great, loud, warm, aggressive sound. Light belt-buckle scratches and one little scratch on the headstock front around one tuner's shaft: nothing else! A rare Les Paul in stellar condition, totally unfaded gold color, with a great sound and ready for gigs, jams and concerts. Comes with a good quality non-original TKL hardshell case, brand new.
