FENDER STRATOCASTER, 1964

Sunburst. Perfect pre-CBS Stratocaster  in 100% original condition witn '63 features. Small headstock, spaghetti logo, green-guard, clay-dots, L-serial number.  Neck is dated Feb 1964, pots are 22nd week of '64 (137 6422). Pickups have 22 Sept. 1964 stamped in yellow ink on the grey bottom. Original bridge with "Fender Pat. Pend." saddles, original Kluson Deluxe double-line tuners, Switchcraft jack-socket, three-way selector switch.
Extremely light and resonant guitar in exceptionally fine conditions, with a gorgeous and very well preserved sunburst finish. Body has some checking, minimal playing wear under the player's arm. The only cosmetic flaws are several cracks in the original green guard, all shown in the pics, but no piece is missing. The neck has the wonderful '63 profile, with normal playing wear and a beautiful fretboard. I am not able to tell if frets have been replaced, but if so, it has been a perfect job. The guitar comes with its original trem-arm and back cavity cover, and of course with its beautiful original no-logo black tolex case.
All original electronics, pickups, selector, jack, pots, cables. Original plastic parts.  Killer-sounding pickups! When we took off the guard to take pics, one of the old solder-joints broke, and it has been fixed by luthier Salvatore Mancuso wih no wire cutting in a perfect and invisible way; detailed pics of this repair are available (before and after).
One of the nicest pre CBS Strats we have ever had, for weight, sound, conditions, playability. Wow, 28 pictures online!
