Cherry Red. When you say "A guitar with a story"... The
guitar was purchased in october 1968 in Toronto, Canada, from Queensway
Music by an italian emigrant who lived there. From that day, this very
gorgeous 335 has always been with its original owner, until he came back
to Italy (Bari, Apulia) and sold it to us. In the clean and beautiful
original Lifton case we can still see the original warranty card dated Oct
24th 1968, the inspection tags, the original cable and string-box!
Incredible conditions: not a single scratch except for a few light
belt-buckle marks that don't go through the finish, no color fading at all,
no dings, just a very small piece of lacquer missing on the side of the
headstock. Chrome hardware in beautiful condition. It is IMPOSSIBLE to
find another '60s ES 335 in such conditions. Everything is perfectly
original: two untouched "Patent Number" pickups (covers never
dissoldered), knobs, Kluson Deluxe double-line double-ring
tuners,
tune-o-matic bridge with nylon saddles, and even the frets are original!
The guitar has been used a little by his original owner, but was also
recorded on a self-produced 45 aimed to italian emigrants' market in
Canada (the record was dedicated to "the mother"... but please
no laughs, even Elvis started that way!) and for 38 has been treasured and
cared-of by a man who knew very well both the instrument's value and
the efforts made to afford it. We'll treat it with the same love and
respect, and we hope that whoever buys it from us will do the same.
The guitar sounds great with two warm and strong pickups and plays
extremely well with a straight and beautiful one-piece mahogany neck. An
exceptional guitar under many respects, which will make you happy...
provided you love the blues. Fantastic!
